The bus is picking us up in less than 2 hours. I have gone to the bank (again!!!). I would have thought that, on a mountain, there is no way to spend money, but it would seem there is! And it is darned expensive, too! Showers are around 15 dollars, phone 8$ for 3 minutes, internet no idea, but I guess it will be about that, one beer for 15$ (which only people on their way down drink, apparently), and the possibility of hiring private porters for the higher camps where the mules do not go. I may not use any of those services, but I prefer having the money on hand anyway. Kind of nuts!
For those who wish to have an idea of the itinerary, you can visit the website of the company I am traveling with: www.aconcaguatrek.com I am doing the normal route.
Cheers to everyone! Wish us luck!
